Your main responsibilities
You will be supporting the Head of Division in the implementation of the country specific Incentive Schemes, Plan for European Cooperating States and Associated States by
Supporting the focal points of one or more New Member States (NMS), European Cooperating States (ECS) or Associated States (AS) for the preparation, initiation and implementation of the relevant actions pertinent to each Member State status and associated measures
Assisting in the analysis of NMS ECS AS and ESA priorities as necessary to guide the contents of the pertinent industrial measures i.e. Industrial Incentive Schemes (IIS for NMS), Plan for ECS (PECS) or liaison with Optional Programmes (AS))
Supporting the awareness of the participation of NMS and AS in ESA Programmes and the relation with the pertinent industrial measures, as well as of the national strategies and programmes of NMS and AS
Supporting the Secretariat of the Task Forces of NMS and the interface with National delegations in ECS and AS
Supporting studies and surveys of capabilities of NMS ECS AS for their relevance to ESA programmes
Maintaining awareness of the Agency s product policy for the relevant NMS ECS AS capabilities
Assisting in the evaluation, selection, initiation, management and monitoring of IIS PECS activities and their relation with Agency s processes. This will entail, inter alia, evaluation of proposals on their technical merit, consistency and defined priorities and assisting in the preparation of Tender Evaluation Board Reports as well as in the briefings to industry
Supporting the coordination between IIS, PECS and AS measures, as necessary
Assisting in the participation in the European Technology Harmonisation process, as necessary, to support the interest of NMS and AS capabilities and relation to PECS activities
Supporting ESA training initiatives in NMS, ECS and AS
The work involves addressing several application and technology domains and implies numerous interfaces with Staff across all ESA Directorates and with entities from the NMS, ECS and AS
Supporting the planning of the NMS and PECS in close collaboration with representatives from technical support and programme directorates
Operation of the associated management information tools and system databases
Participating actively in the Division meetings.
What you will need to perform the job
Master Degree in Engineering (preferably space related)
At least 4 years of experience with similar tasks
Familiarity and experience in the RD area and technology development processes , in particular in the space sector, is a distinctive advantage
Knowledge and or experience of the different ESA Programmes and European space industry as well as ESA s internal processes will be an asset
Knowledge of Project management and controlling methods and tools , as well as MS office
Fluency in English , both written and spoken
Autonomy and ability to interface with ESA staff at all levels
Ability to analyse and synthesise complex information, set priorities and to handle high workload
Commitment and reliability in the execution of the assigned tasks
Proactive attitude to solving problems.
