Desktop Support Engineer

A leading financial services organisation based in the heart of the City of London are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer providing 1st-3rd line support to the UK business.

Key Responsibilities:

*Responding to users queries in an efficient, timely and service oriented manner and so as to deal with their issues.

*Acquiring and commissioning Laptops, Desktops, Servers, Projectors, Phones and other equipment required by the Users.

*Building and supporting desktop and laptops within the company both Windows and Macs.

*There is no regular travel requirement in the role, although occasional trips within the UK and abroad would be required.

*Experience with desktops and Servers.

*Good knowledge of Active Directory, security policies and DNS

*Networking knowledge of Firewalls, Switches, Routers and security systems.

*Communicate with users on the status of support cases

*Performing scheduled audits, product testing, maintenance and security checks

*Provide application support eg MS Office, Outlook

Technical skills:

*Solid experience of Windows (XP, Win 7, Windows Server 2008/2012, MS Office )

*Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, TCP/IP

*Networking experience (L3 and L2 Switches, some routing.)

*Security (Anti-virus, Firewall etc.)

*OS Deployment (WDS/MDT)

*Symantec Backup Exec


*Relevant Microsoft qualification.

*Mac desktop/Servers

*Storage (SAN/NAS/Tape Robotics)

Employment Type: Permanent

Pay: 30,000 to 40,000 EUR (Euro)
Pay Period: Annual
